In this webinar the importance of enhancing corporate and academic governance will be considered within the context of a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Typical models of governance in other tertiary education providers will be presented as a guide to constructing a governance framework for private RTOs.
A clear understanding of the governance arrangements of other teritary educaiton providers should allow participants to build and maintain enhanced governance frameworks in the VET sector.
- Understand the importance of governance in a private tertiary education provider;
- Appreciate the distinction between ownership, corporate governance and academic governance in a tertiary education provider; and
- Be familiar with generic models of governance in tertiary education providers.

Dr Peter Ryan has a wealth of experience in regulatory issues for private higher education providers. Over the past 20 years Peter has assisted a number of institutions to navigate the complex regulatory framework which ensures the quality of Australia’s higher education providers, specialising in the areas of regulatory approvals, quality assurance, and corporate and academic governance.
