Assessment tools are the instruments and procedures used to gather and interpret evidence of competence.
Validating, or quality assuring, assessment tools during development (or customisation of commercial resources) and prior to implementation of assessment with learners is crucial in ensuring the alignment of the tools with the assessment methods and strategies, and in ensuring they have the required potential to determine competency.
Ensuring compliant assessment tools which are of the highest quality prior to implementation will alleviate remedial action post assessment and enhance the processes of validating assessment practices.
This webinar will provide guidance in what should be considered in quality assuring assessment tools.
- Differentiate between validation as quality assurance of assessment tools, and validation as the quality review of assessment practices and systems
- Undertake comprehensive validation of assessment tools as a process during assessment development and prior to implementation
- Ensure assessment tools are fit for purpose in determining competency and are aligned to the assessment methods and strategies
- Assure the quality and compliance of assessment tools
