This webinar follows on from the Introduction webinar on this topic, however those participating need not have taken part in the Introduction webinar.
It is a government requirement (Standard 1 of the Standards for RTOs 2015) that learners enrolled in your course must be given the language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) support they need to successfully complete it. This second webinar in this series will explore how vocational trainers can integrate LLN support strategies into their vocational training delivery. While touching on tools that can help trainers do this, it will be firmly embedded in the vocational context.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, participants will have the knowledge and skills to:

  • Identify implicit LLN demands in Training Package units of competency
  • Factor LLN support into the planning of vocational training delivery
  • Locate and use resources that help build capability in providing LLN support during vocational training delivery.
Facilitated by: Jana Scomazzon

Over the 16 years that Jana Scomazzon has been facilitating PD, participants have spoken of her deep knowledge of VET policy, practice and product; the clarity with which she shares that knowledge; and her engaging presentation style. A former adult literacy practitioner and current government-endorsed Training Package quality evaluator, Jana is also a recognised expert in foundation skills; language, literacy and numeracy; and in identifying and addressing learner support needs in the VET context. Her workshops for vocational trainers focus on providing practical and focused strategies for providing LLN support.
